Just because I’m 40 doesn’t mean my skin has to look that way

With my big 4-0 approaching, I decided I needed to “up the ante” a bit on my anti-aging skincare regimen. I had tried a medical microdermabrasion treatment at a med spa, which, although slightly irritating to my skin after, improved it overall. But a single one of these treatments can cost upwards of $100 and it has to be repeated with some frequency to see real results.

physical-chemistry-girlI found the ultimate solution in DermaDoctor’s Physical Chemistry facial microdermabrasion plus multiacid chemical peel. This simple, at home treatment can be used safely a couple times per week and combines the benefits of microdermabrasion with those of a gentle chemical peel (another pricey spa treatment).

Unlike some of the traditional abrasives used in spas, the Synthetic Polymer Microdermabrading Beads in Physical Chemistry are free of rough edges and break down when applied to the skin, so they remove debris without causing some of the redness and irritation that can follow medical microdermabrasion therapy. The gentle chemical peel helps fight lines and wrinkles with a combination of Glycolic, Lactic, Azelaic and Beta Hytroxy acids.

I use this product 2-3 times a week and from the very first use, I noticed a difference. It instantly removes dead skin cells, dirt, sunscreen and makeup build-up and makes my skin feel as clean, soft and new as my 12-month-old baby’s. The built-in anti-irritant complex including Green Tea, Dimethicone and Algae Extract helps prevent redness and irritation, so I can easily use it in the morning or before I go out.

My makeup glides on flawlessly after I use Physical Therapy, minimizing my pores and giving my face a “finished” look that truly defies my age. It’s also ideal for evenly exfoliating my skin before applying a facial self-tanner (after all, the sun is the number one culprit in damaging and aging the skin).

I’m not one for plastic surgery – but I’m also not so keen on “aging gracefully.” With Physical Therapy, I can ease into my 40s with youthful, glowing skin without spending a fortune or taking the risk of going under the knife.
