We all deal with the stray pimple now and then (hormones), but for many people, breakouts are a regular and ongoing skin challenge. There are approximately 45 million young adults between the ages of 12 and 24 who have acne. This number does not even include the millions of acne patients in their 20s and 30s.
Acne is not caused by a single event (like binging on chocolate) but rather is the result of multiple steps going “wrong” in the skin. It is a disorder of keratinization, or dysfunctional formation of the cells lining the gland beneath the skin’s surface.
Regular, daily cleansing and removal of make-up, dirt and debris is the first step toward interrupting the chain of events that cause acne in order to clear the skin and prevent recurrences. Try using a cleanser specifically formulated for oily skin and acne prevention like DERMAdoctor Ain’t Misbehavin’ aha/bha acne cleanser, which has a soap-free, pH balanced, creamy base to dissolve and exfoliate pore-plugging debris, curb bacteria growth and control oil production. It contains the highest level of salicylic acid (BHA), an approved treatment to unplug pores and treat acne, as well as Witch Hazel, a time-honored astringent thought to target bacteria, and Allantoin, a botanical extract thought to have healing and anti-irritant properties.
Use it morning and night to keep your skin as clean as possible. You can even use Ain’t Misbehavin’ in the shower as a body cleanser. Just remember that products containing Salicylic Acid should be avoided during pregnancy or while nursing.
Ain’t Misbehavin’ is formulated to work synergistically with your daily acne control regimen. Try following cleansing DERMAdoctor Ain’t Misbehavin’ acne control serum, which directly targets all five points of blemish development, disrupting acne formation. And if you have regular, ongoing issues with blackheads, try DERMAdoctor Ain’t Misbehavin’ intensive blackhead treatment. This biphasic formulation targets blackheads at their source, providing both rapid and long-term impact.
Take control of misbehavin’ skin before it takes control of you and live a blemish-free life!

Adult Acne is the absolute worst. Cystic acne especially. I have been plagued with this since starting my professional career about 5 years ago. I have found nothing that has worked until Aint Misbehavin’ Cleanser, Serum, Mask…. In three weeks it has knocked out my acne. Literally. It has done what antibiotics could not. Amazing!
Reading the articles on this site put the puzzle pieces together and help me to supplement my skincare routine. Now that my acne is under conrol I can begin treating my melasma and explore antiaging.
I also struggled with acne years until I started using DERMAdoctor Aint Misbehavin Cleanser on my face. It cleared up my face right away, and I have been using it religiously for a year. That being said, I still suffer from moderate acne (mostly cystic) on my back, chest, and upper arms. Has anyone tried this cleanser on their body, too? Or, is there any advice for treating body breakouts?
Hi Nicole,
You can definitely use our Aint Misbehavin Cleanser on your back. A lot of people use it with a Clarisonic brush on their chest/back area where acne often occurs. This helps to exfoliate and unclog blocked pores that cause cystic acne.
Another product that you may want to try is our KP Duty Body Scrub. It contains glycolic acid, a known treatment for acne, and acts as a chemical peel and microdermabrasion in one.
I hope that helps!
